Material Handler

General Accountability:

This position will be responsible for unloading product deliveries, maintain stock in the warehouse, moving stock and other materials to fulfill orders, recording location of inventory, and maintains accurate inventory of product.

• Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Inbound Freight:
• Receive materials from freight carrier by verifying receipt of proper number of crates, boxes, cartons, etc.
• Inspect freight as delivered for shortages and damages.
• Check shipments against packing slip.
• Data entry of daily receipts.
• Place material in stock, move to appropriate production department, or ship to customer/dealer.
• Outbound Freight:
• Gather, verify, inspect, package and ship parts per instructions
• Ability to use shipping software for small parcel packages
• Knowledge of various export packaging requirements.
• Shop Floor Support:
• Gather and/or disperse inventory items per issue notes to proper floor location
• Inspect completed manufactured parts as delivered to the storeroom and put into proper location
• General Parts Room:
• Maintain proper location and inventory counts in IFS.
• Perform or assist in other assigned duties as qualified.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner.
• In the event of an accident or injury immediately, notify the Shift supervisor on duty.
• Contact Maintenance Department to get equipment repaired when necessary.
• Ability and willingness to take on additional assignments as requested by management.
• Use tools, equipment and technology, computers or automated systems.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Check results for conformance to print and / or specifications and make necessary corrections.
• Work with coworkers in a polite and courteous manner, providing cross training as needed.
• Able to work overtime as required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

Minimum education: High school diploma or GED.

Skills and Competencies/Requirements:
• 1-2 years experience operating forklift (preferred)
• Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite is preferred and ERP system
• Experience operating forklift and other lift equipment.
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills
• Experience with cycle counting a plus.
• Must be a self-starter, team player and have the ability to multitask.
• Able and willing to work in other areas as needed. Suggest and implement improvements. Follow up on details. Seek out productive work when assignments are completed. Actively participate in continuous improvement for our products and process to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability.

Equipment: tools, metatarsal safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, gloves and other PPE as needed.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, standing for extended periods, lifting multiple pounds regularly, use wrist motion, reach above/below shoulders, step up/down, bend/stoop, twist, squat/crouch, kneel or crawl.

Essential Skills: Perform work standing on a concrete a minimum of 8 hours up to 10 hours per day. Reading, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory, finding information, computer use, and continuous learning. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
