Keep it Kosher
Description
Are you curious about Jewish culture and the concept of kosher? On Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 p.m., join Harrison Freund at the Yankton Community Library, 515 Walnut St., to learn how Jewish people apply the philosophical concept of kosher to guide them in their diet and preparing religious items. Freund will explain the theological and cultural foundations of kashrut, an overview of the parameters of a kosher diet, and how modern tools and innovations help Jews keep kosher today.
Harrison Freund (Aharon ben Nachoom) is a Jewish member of the Yankton community who has lived in the area for several years. Raised in a Jewish household, Freund practices kosher.
This presentation celebrates Jewish American Heritage Month. This event is free to the public; no registration or fee is required.
